Southern Cross University Compliance Register

This Register lists the compliance drivers (Commonwealth, State and international laws and other statutory instruments, and industry, community and ethical standards and codes) that impact on the University’s activities and operations, to the extent that the University has some obligation of compliance or accountability.

  • Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 (NSW) - Tier 3This Act establishes smoke free areas in NSW

  • Soil Conservation Act 1938 (NSW) - Tier 3This Act makes provision for the conservation of soil resources and farm water resources and for the mitigation of erosion.

  • Southern Cross University Act 1993 (NSW) - Tier 1This Act establishes Southern Cross University. It sets out the object and functions of the University for the promotion of scholarship, research, free inquiry, the interaction of research and teaching, and academic excellence. The Act deals with procedural matters concerning the University Council and Academic Board

  • Spam Act 2003 (Cth) - Tier 3This Act sets up a scheme for regulating commercial email and other types of commercial electronic messages.

  • State Records Act 1998 (NSW) - Tier 2This Act provides for the creation, management and protection of the records of public offices of the State and for public access to those records.

  • Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth) - Tier 2This Act sets out the administrative arrangements for the Superannuation Guarantee Scheme. The Superannuation Guarantee is the minimum amount employers are required to pay to their eligible employees. The University is obliged to pay superannuation to eligible employees, contribute to the correct superannuation fund and pay contributions by a specified date.
